Repsol in the United States

The United States remains a core country in Repsol’s 2024-2027 Strategic Update for its high-quality energy assets, favorable business environment, and growth potential. The unconventional hydrocarbon revolution and the country’s long-standing tradition in the industry has enabled it to go from being a net hydrocarbon importer to the world’s leading energy producer in just a short number of years, according to the International Energy Agency.

In the United States, Repsol has upstream assets in the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania, Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas, Gulf of Mexico, and North Slope in Alaska. Repsol started producing electricity at its first solar plant in the United States in 2022 in New Mexico and currently has more than 2 GW of renewable energy capacity installed or under construction in the country. Repsol also has downstream businesses in natural gas, crude oil, and products marketing and trading.
