Guyana is an up-and-coming country with great energy potential and significant energy resources since companies in the sector announced the success of their discoveries in 2017. It is located on the northern, Atlantic coast of South America, bordering Venezuela and Brazil.
We have been present in Guyana since 1997 with a variety of upstream projects, where we are leaders in hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation through the Kanuku block, which is located in the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo region.
Main project
Committed to growth
Our aim in Guyana is to become a socially responsible company. We firmly believe that our activities should contribute to the community’s socio-economic development, through transparent communication and by using local resources and supporting actions that improve the quality of the local community.
Repsol has been a sponsor of the Mining Week organized by the Guyana’s Geology and Mining Commission for years, and we have also supported the GIPEX Conference as Gold Sponsors. In addition, we sponsored the ICT Project developed by the Ministry of Telecommunications, and we continue to lend support to other valuable local initiatives.
